Teaching
My goal in all of the courses I teach is for students to develop skills to continue the learning process outside of the classroom. By centering critical thinking, the application of real-world tools, and a variety of media I am to provoke a broad range of students to utilise their new found skills in their majors, daily lives, and future careers. Diverse and global perspectives are fundamental parts of my classroom experience. By including material from a broad range of voices and perspectives I demonstrate to my students the power of multiple voices in a learning environment. I also encourage my students to discover their own voice by empowering them to take control of their education. I set these expectations early and remind them throughout the semester. Students leave my classrooms with the tools to continue their discovery of the social world around them and their power and place in it.
