Previous Positions
Statistician for the Point Foundation Annual Application Survey 2020 & 2021
In this role ran descriptive statistics on survey data. I also participated in survey design and data dissemination decisions with the point foundation.
Interviewer for the Atlanta Move to Work Housing Study - Emory University, May 2019 - August 2019
In this role I interviewed over 50 people, over a three month period, who had been in low income housing in Atlanta over the past 10 years. Interviews were solo, lasted about an hour, and involved visiting people at their homes.
Ethnographer for the Transgender Women’s Supplement - Georgia's National HIV Behavioural Surveillance Project, (CDC Funded and Supervised) April 2018-January 2019
In this role I worked with two other Sociologists to conduct primary and secondary data reports, hold focus groups for community key informants, interview key informants, liaise with the other 7 cities on research design & administration, source survey collection locations, and source resources and incentives for participants.
Field Supervisor (LGBTQ Liaison) - 2018 Atlanta Homeless Youth Count, January 2018 - May 2018
In this role I conducted participant observation at a local drop-in center for homeless youth. Over an eight-week period I provided preliminary findings and field notes.
Graduate Fellow, Georgia Institute of Technology’s Women's Resource Center, August 2017- May 2018
In this role my focus was programming, marketing, and social media. I designed and implemented a variety of programs, using an applied Sociology lens including 'Healthy Relationships', 'Red goes Green' (sustainable menstruation), and 'Women in the Wilderness'. Notably, as part of our wellness programming, I assisted Dr Riggle as we worked with other university divisions to carry out 'EveryBody Week'. 'EveryBody Week' is a week at Georgia Tech focused on getting students of all shapes, sizes, and abilities engaged with wellness. I took the lead on the 'Trans Movie Night', 'Zumba in the Dark', and 'Challenge Course for All' programs. While running the Social Media for the center, through campaigns like #womencrushwednesday where we featured notable women from across the globe, out social media, saw considerable growth. Growing to nearly 650 facebook likes, 200 twitter followers, and 100 Instagram users.
